The Cantabrian capital welcomes the Ambassador Cruise Line vessel this Tuesday, 17 March, marking the first of four scheduled calls by the company this year
Santander welcomes the cruise ship Ambition, operated by Ambassador Cruise Line, this Tuesday, 17 March, in what represents a milestone for the port, as it is the first time the company has operated in the city. The vessel will remain berthed at the Almirante Maritime Terminal from 12:00 to 19:00 as part of its itinerary between Lisbon and Le Verdon (Bordeaux).
The Ambition, measuring 216 metres in length, arrives in the Cantabrian capital with up to 1,428 passengers, most of them British, and a crew of 670. This is a notable call both for the volume of visitors and its positive impact on the destination.
During their stay, passengers will have the opportunity to discover some of Cantabria’s main tourist attractions through a range of organised excursions. Highlights include visits to Santoña, Laredo and Castro Urdiales, as well as tours of Santillana del Mar, Comillas and San Vicente de la Barquera. A panoramic tour of Santander will also be available for those who prefer a more relaxed way of exploring the city.
The arrival of the Ambition also marks the beginning of a relationship between Santander and Ambassador Cruise Line, which will make a total of four calls at the Cantabrian port this year. Following this first visit, three more are scheduled: the Ambience will arrive on 11 May and 10 August, while the Ambition will return to Santander on 6 November.
With this new addition, the Port of Santander continues to strengthen its position as a cruise destination in northern Spain, expanding its international profile and diversifying its tourism offering.
The next scheduled call in the city will be on 10 April, with the arrival of the cruise ship Ventura, which will further boost tourism activity in the Cantabrian capital during the season.
