Santander Cruise Deluxe: A New Horizon for Cruise Tourism in Cantabria

At the 2025 FITUR Tourism Fair, Santander Cruise Deluxe showcased Cantabria’s growing appeal as a premium cruise destination. Following its strategic roadmap, the brand achieved a record-breaking 35,761 cruise passengers in 2024, marking a 50% increase from the previous year. Looking ahead, Santander Cruise Deluxe aims to attract 90,000 cruise tourists by 2030, potentially generating €24.1 million in economic impact.

Key initiatives include infrastructure improvements, such as expanding docking capabilities for larger vessels up to 330 meters, and promotional efforts like luxury cruise brochures, enhanced excursion offerings, and partnerships with international associations like CLIA and Cruise Europe. The brand also introduced a new guide highlighting Cantabria’s diverse cultural and natural attractions.

Leaders of the initiative emphasized Santander’s commitment to sustainability, economic growth, and its positioning as a strategic port in Northern Spain for premium cruises. With 20 cruise stops already planned for 2025, Santander Cruise Deluxe continues to reinforce its presence on the global cruise tourism map.
