On 30 June, the luxury cruise ship Crystal Serenity, operated by Crystal Cruises, called at the Port of Santander, reaffirming the city’s growing appeal within the premium cruise market. The vessel returned to Santander after its previous visit in 2014, bringing a new generation of luxury travellers to the Cantabrian coast.
The ship remained alongside the Maritime Station (Almirante) from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, arriving from Leixões (Portugal) and continuing its itinerary towards Saint-Jean-de-Luz (France). During its call, the vessel carried up to 740 passengers and approximately 645 crew members, offering a personalised, high-end cruise experience.
Passengers enjoyed the opportunity to discover Santander’s elegant waterfront, vibrant gastronomy and cultural heritage, while many chose to explore some of Cantabria’s most iconic attractions through organised shore excursions. The cruise terminal’s privileged location, just a short walk from the historic city centre, once again allowed visitors to make the most of their time ashore.
The return of Crystal Serenity reinforces Santander’s position as an increasingly attractive destination for luxury cruise lines. Its combination of outstanding port facilities, authentic local experiences and easy access to world-class natural and cultural attractions continues to make the city an ideal port of call for premium itineraries.
As Santander Cruise Deluxe continues to strengthen relationships with leading cruise operators, calls from prestigious vessels such as Crystal Serenity demonstrate the growing international recognition of Cantabria as one of northern Spain’s most exclusive cruise destinations.
