Yesterday, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, the cruise ship Ventura from P&O docked at Santander’s Maritime Station (Almirante) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Organized by Consignaciones Pérez y Cía., this stopover included 3.000 passengers, mostly British, and a crew of 1.190.
Coming from Gijón and heading to La Rochelle, the 288.6-meter vessel offered seven excursions for its guests. Special buses picked up passengers directly at the pier for their excursions.
Local authorities, including the Port Authority, Guardia Civil, and Police, set up a special operation to ensure smooth entry and exit from the port. Taxis and services for cyclists were clearly marked.
The Cantabria Tourist Information Office was open all day at the Maritime Station, providing maps and information to visitors from the Cruise Ship Ventura. José from Pérez y Cía. oversaw operations during the ship’s stay, ensuring everything ran smoothly.
This visit highlighted Santander’s capacity to host large cruise ships, boosting local tourism and the economy.
